This comeback of Mega Evolutions in Pokémon Legends: Z-A has sparked immense enthusiasm across the fandom. Starting with the gradual reveal of newcomers ahead of the title's release, to trainers forming firm views on the entire lineup of Mega Evolutions, there's plenty for enthusiasts to look forward to.

With numerous of the Mega Evolutions showcasing distinctive designs that highlight their traits, one thought came to mind: How can connect this with zodiac signs? The following is inspired by a blend of intuition, common zodiac traits, and individual observations.

The Ram – Mega Camerupt

To be truthful, Houndour's evolution was almost selected for this fire sign, as both are the Super Form and astrological sign that inspire the greatest apprehension. Much like an enrapturing, gregarious Twins, it's incredibly simple to imagine Super Medicham captivating an entire Wild Zone with their stories. This Pokémon's Pokédex entry also mentions its capacity to predict an enemy’s future actions, which seems very similar to a people-smart Gemini.

Cancer – Super Manectric

Cancer is commonly considered as the most emotional member of the zodiac, a passionate sign famous for often becoming wrapped up in their feelings. According to the Pokédex, Super Evolution fills the Pokémon with a “huge amount of energy, but it's too much for this Pokémon to completely control,” which sounds a lot like a typical Crab crash-out. It is also recognized for its capability to make a storm cloud over its very head – and if there’s a single trait a Crab is likely to do, it’s rain on their own parade.

Leo – Mega Starmie

The zodiac symbol known for being endearingly judgmental is clearly mirrored across this creature's entire evolutionary chain, from a perpetually shocked face like a Virgo when you inform them you don’t have a retirement plan, to its inverted face that’s just like the symbol a Maiden posts to the group chat when everyone says they want to “be spontaneous” rather than creating a strategy.

Libra – Mega Audino

Look at this gentle, sensitive creature, who uses the feelers on its auditory organs to detect how people are feeling by their pulse. Consistently compassionate – occasionally to a detriment – and trying to maintain the peace, there are many Scales who would likely benefit from Super Audino's abilities. Though, to be frank, it would likely just cause them to worry even more about others.

Scorpio – Mega Banette

Banette is a creature with a surprisingly sad origin: Discarded as a toy, it became consciousness through sheer hatred and vowed retribution on its former owner. Per the Pokédex, Super Evolution, “enhances its vindictiveness.” That seems exactly like several discussions I’ve had with my intense Scorpion friends. A Scorpion loves cosmic justice and retribution, making them the perfect pair with Super Banette.

Sagittarius – Super Hawlucha

Both Super Hawlucha and Archers are constantly staging a performance. As a Sagittarius personally, the number of occasions I’ve referred to myself some version of a “silly small entertainer” is innumerable. The most flamboyant and most obnoxious Mega Evolution, its description even mentions how it “poses to show off its strength.” I would do the exact same thing if I had a Super Form, making Mega Hawlucha the most fitting Sagittarius match I can imagine.

The Goat – Mega Absol
