Week six of the 2025 NFL season

Live coverage features live text for Sunday's games via various channels, beginning with Denver Broncos v New York Jets in London (kicking off at 2 PM BST). Also, radio commentary is available through select stations covering a separate game (beginning at 9 PM BST).

We're in the sixth week in the football calendar and following recent discussion regarding two top teams being a potential Super Bowl match-up, they both lost their unbeaten records.

Striking during those contests were the amount of infractions both conceded. The Eagles committed them in key moments so they essentially defeated themselves having led by two touchdowns going into the fourth period versus the Denver Broncos, who play in London this weekend.

However it was good to observe how Denver's QB the rookie managed to overcome that deficit and then direct three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory 21-17.

Denver have the top defender with cornerback their star corner. They rank number one in goal-line defense, whereas the Eagles lead the league in scoring near the end zone, yet Denver won that contest.

They executed the Eagles' number regarding simulated pressure. They weren't always sending more than four defenders but they might plug two LBs in the interior before withdrawing them and send a slot defender off the edge.

At the start in the campaign, we said during a show that Denver could be this season's surprise contenders. They ended the previous year strongly and did a good job in continuing that momentum.

Are the Denver Broncos this year's dark horses?

New tight end Evan Engram has stepped up big while new RB their rusher is a guy the team trusts. He's currently 5th in the NFL for rushing yards (402) and tied for fourth for rushing touchdowns (4).

I love that the coach Sean Payton displays "RUN IT!" at the top of his playcall sheet.

That shows that the Broncos are a squad that wants to run first, since one can achieve much based on that approach. It slows opposing rushes and maintains in favourable situations.

It's also benefited QB the young passer, who entered the NFL as the 12th overall draft pick last year, passing for 29 touchdown passes – just behind a star QB in rookie records (31 back in 2020).

Other elite QBs possess the arm strength to throw all over, however they lack the mobility as Nix. He has incredible arm talent, which is different, plus he's so athletic.

His strengths include his mobility, being able to pass on the run, and using different arm angles to make the pass as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He is able to throw precision throws across the middle or past defenders.

For a young quarterback, at 25, he's got a lot of poise in the pocket and isn't really fazed by extra rushers. He aims to evade being tackled as much as possible and can throw in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and is very decisive.

When you consistently rush it eats up time and makes the opponent to be on the field for longer, and when you have a mobile QB the defence has to cover the area downfield and horizontally. It can be draining.

Nix has pushed back with the coach on the sideline at times and I think the coach appreciates that attitude, seeing him as a fierce rival. I think it's fun for him to have a young quarterback that is similar to play-dough. He can really develop him how he wants to build it. I believe it's a special experience for him.

The head coach owns a Super Bowl and now surpassed a legend for career NFL wins (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the success Denver are having on offence is mostly down to his leadership, his schemes, his game sense – and the pairing with Nix helps make him what he is.

You wouldn't want a better guy in your ear, to help you during some of the tougher situations and boost self-belief.

I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in Bo Nix's tenacity and composure. But is the team strong enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that wasn't a Super Bowl performance from Philadelphia in their last game.

Currently, it's unlikely Denver are elite. They're performing above average, that's a solid position to hold their division. All they need is to continue this path.

They excel at leaning into their strength, that is running the ball, and that's precisely what they should do against the New York Jets at Tottenham. It will likely be a Dobbins-focused game, in essence.

New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground each contest (sixth worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they're the sole squad yet to win a game.

Since the NFL began tracking turnovers decades ago, this team are also the first team to go without a single takeaway in five outings, this is surprising when you think that the head coach Aaron Glenn a defensive coach at the Detroit Lions.

Patrick Mahomes stated Kansas City have 'already lost too many games' following a recent loss to Jacksonville.

Following this Sunday's game, Denver have a smooth-ish schedule until their bye (in week 12) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans plus the Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.

Looking at the AFC West, the Chiefs hold a losing record while Denver are tied with the Los Angeles Chargers at 3-2 meaning they could challenge at leading the division.

This hinges upon what version Kansas City shows up they face because Denver {beat|def
