Tottenham Hotspur supporters who jeered keeper Guglielmo Vicario were informed afterwards "those individuals can't be true Spurs supporters" by manager Thomas Frank.

Spurs let in a pair of scores in the first initial moments to fall 2-1 to their opponents, registering their tenth Premier League home defeat of the year.

However the primary talking point was the visitors' second score when the keeper lost the ball far beyond his area.

Seconds afterwards when the ball came to the keeper again, some Spurs supporters jeered him.

The team were booed off at half-time, with the side 2-0 behind, and again at the final whistle.

A particular of those jeering episodes really angered the manager.

"It came to my attention some of our supporters apparently jeered the incident and jeered following, which, in my opinion is completely unacceptable," the Dane stated about the supporters' reaction to his shot-stopper.

"[They] cannot be true Tottenham fans that act that way. Fair enough booing following the match, no problem, but when we are playing, we are supporting each other, we are with each other moving ahead."

Kenny Tete had given the visitors a fourth-minute advantage before Harry Wilson's goal – with Mohammed Kudus scoring for Spurs in an improved second-half performance.

Former top-flight goalkeeper Hart remarked that the next score was "completely avoidable".

"I certainly appreciate the supporters' frustration," Hart continued. "I know the part the keeper is playing. He's a excellent squad member, he's a real figure in the locker room but in the end you are going to be judged by your decisions.

"The keeper was heavily involved in what ended up to be the winning score."

Italy national team Vicario is in his 3rd season with Tottenham.

He said following the match that he had to accept the criticism.

"The second goal was a error of my own, I accept accountability for it," he said.

"The intent was to clear the ball far and I just struck the ball in a poor way. It was an even bigger challenge to climb."

He said receiving jeers "is part of the game".

"I'm a big man, how can I respond?" he continued. "The team cannot be influenced by the circumstances in the crowd. Supporters have the right to do as they see fit.

They still have home games against Frank's former club Brentford and champions Liverpool to play prior to the close of the season.
