Jarrod Bowen Had England’s best chance in the opening period, his effort well saved from the opposing goalkeeper. With a teammate hanging back, he was forced to stretch the play out wide but his crosses from the touchline were inconsistent. Replaced with 15 to go. 6

Harry Kane The match-winner with his seventy-seventh and seventy-eighth goals at international level. The first a classic poacher’s finish and the second a classy header following a clever run from his marker. Aged 32, his form is unwavering and the side are strong contenders in future competitions with him leading the line. 8

The attacker Found it tough to get into the game out wide. Was presented with a decent opportunity following a pass from a teammate however Strakosha made the save. Rashford made much more of influence after coming on. 5/10
