Football Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's ten-match victorious run was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global break, however can the Premier League leaders recover against local foes Spurs this Sunday?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still manage to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he takes on performer Olly Murs, who is a United fan.

Murs' new record, the new release, is available on Friday.

Football and Parenting Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of multiple charity football games down the years - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a benefit game the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too risky for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Additionally I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son decides to play instead."

The singer and his spouse his partner have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by taking on the role of their coach.

"I won't push football on our children but I've previously told Amelia that if they happen to get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will likely be coaching their Saturday football side," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had a wonderful time with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from fitness issues but their attack is already stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

In my opinion this game will be fairly tight, however. Burnley are well organised and their only home defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

This smells of a one-all draw to me, but I am in fact going to go with Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's forecast: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

AI's outlook: 0-2

Bournemouth have been defeated in their previous couple games - although both of them were away - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, West Ham won back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' only away victory this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when West Ham manager Nuno was still that team's coach.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their run under Nuno, or the home side responding?

I will go with Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

Brentford were considered one of the frontrunners for relegation before the season started, but they have impressed a few people under their manager and are in good form with three in their past four matches.

A family member told me to get Brentford striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Brighton's ground.

They have not had great success on the road this term, and the Seagulls are consistently decent at home. Brentford will try to attack on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's side pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: It could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of goals but it actually proves to be quite close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a huge fixture for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have have lots of talent in their squad but it nonetheless feels like they could be dragged into a drop zone battle.

As for Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight season so far.

The away side's performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We've not seen any other team rough up the Gunners like that this term, and Sunderland were more than a match for them.

The sensible thing to do to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not going to do that. Instead, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of credit for their good results because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering Fulham's home record, the sole side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a good result, so I am going to predict they will pick up three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's choice: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and also that the hosts are on a poor streak... but they have nonetheless been decent at home this campaign. 2-0

The algorithm's prediction: 2-0

This is a hard one to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
