In November 2018, Steve Bannon, formerly a top aide to Donald Trump, visited the UK preparing for a speech at the prestigious Oxford Union.

The speech was disrupted by numerous demonstrators, and Bannon, scheduled to board a flight that evening, informed Jeffrey Epstein in an email: "Activists delayed speech I doubt I can make the plane we are heading to heathrow".

Epstein replied: "There. Is a Gulf Air departing at 950 with a stop in Bahrain". Bannon answered: "You are an amazing helper".

These exchanges were published on this week together with more than 20,000 pages from the records of Epstein, the late convicted sex offender.

The release by the House oversight committee includes an iMessage chat where Bannon's identity is redacted. Media outlets managed to confirm his involvement by matching the timeline, events, and locations referenced.

For instance, Epstein talks about arranging a plane from Scotland for the unnamed individual in the chat, and commends their "Oxford speech". Bannon participated in the News Xchange conference on November 14, and delivered the speech at the Oxford Union two days later.

Bannon, who is not accused of any misconduct, did not reply on the request for comment.

Epstein's Assurance to Bannon

Bannon was one of the president's key aides in the run up to the presidential election and in the early days of his first administration, but stepped down from the White House in 2017.

He has admitted he was making a film about Epstein prior to his passing and reportedly has approximately 15 hours of footage. In a live taping of his podcast recently, he said: "We plan to release the series, the five-part series, in the coming year - early next year."

But the recently disclosed documents suggest Bannon's connection with Epstein extended than being his biographer, with the convicted paedophile at times seeming to act like a aide.

A short time prior to the exchange in which Epstein seemed to booked a charter jet for Bannon, Epstein remarked: "how does it feel to have the highest-paid travel agent in the world ".

Bannon expressed gratitude: "You are quite capable assistant", to which Epstein responded "Therapies. Not Included".

Discussing a trip to "AD" in a separate text, Epstein assured Bannon: "I will ensure you are well looked after."

UK Politics Discussed in Messages

The published messages also show Bannon and Epstein talking about UK politics in that year.

On the day of his address at the Oxford, Bannon messaged Epstein: "I've gotten pulled into the Brexit issue this morning with Farage, Johnson and Rees Mogg."

Then, in what appears to be a reference to Theresa May, the struggling British leader at the period, he added: "They are trying to proceed. may soon…"

Epstein advised Bannon: "I think staying as much as you can in the UK. Best-- so people get the commitment of your follow through."

Soon after, Epstein asked: "Will Theresa may remain in power". Bannon answered: "I don't see how BUT the guys over here have little courage" and added "Johnson ; Gove; Rees Mogg; David Davis - someone has to take charge".

May was eventually removed in 2019 after withstanding two votes of lack of support in late 2018.

A spokesman for the political party told media: "Farage has not been in a meeting with Bannon, Rees-Mogg and Boris Johnson." And there is nothing to suggest that encounter took place.

The US House of Representatives will vote next week on whether the justice department should make public all its files concerning its investigation into Epstein, who died in prison in 2019.

Interest in Epstein's associations with powerful figures was renewed recently after the publication of more than 20,000 pages from his archives.

Some of those referenced the former president, who has repeatedly denied any impropriety. The leader was a friend of Epstein's for a long time, but claims they parted ways in the 2000s, a couple of years before Epstein was first arrested.
