Catastrophe Occurs as Accidental Blast at Police Station in Indian-administered Kashmir Claims Nine Deaths
A catastrophic detonation at a law enforcement facility in the Kashmir region under Indian control has caused the loss of nine people and harm to thirty-two additional people, according to official statements.
The event occurred when a collection of confiscated explosives unintentionally detonated during management operations.
Chronology of Incidents
The detonation occurred on the evening of Friday at the Nowgam security post, where explosive materials seized from Faridabad region in the northern territory of Haryana province were being held provisionally.
Area police chief announced that the detonation substances were awaiting forensic examination when a "very unfortunate" incident during management caused their explosion at approximately 23:20 local time.

Police authorities asserted that this was an "unintentional explosion" and rather than a terrorist attack. "Alternative theories regarding the reason of this occurrence is unneeded," highlighted the police chief during a press briefing.
The security post endured severe damage from the explosion, with nearby constructions also being impacted by the powerful blast.
Aftermath and Fatalities
Multiple vehicles were "covered in blaze and transformed into ashen remains, with wreckage spread across the site," according to authority statements.
"The power of the explosion was so powerful that some human remains were retrieved from close-by residences, approximately 100-200 meters distant the police station," stated an authority informant.
The bulk of the fatalities were police officers, along with technical investigation team, two evidence documentation specialists, and a garment worker who was accompanying the group.
Administration Reaction
The territory's Administrative Head conveyed condolences and confirmed that an investigation had been directed into the catastrophic occurrence.
"I have ordered a probe to establish the cause of the unintentional blast. Extremely pained by the death of valuable individuals due to extremely tragic unintentional explosion at Nowgam police station in the Srinagar area. My commiserations to the grieving relatives. I pray for speedy recovery of the wounded," expressed the authority on social media.
